Chantilly, VA — The Long & Foster® Insurance Agency, Inc. has named Patrick Bain president of the company. Long & Foster® Insurance Agency, Inc. is the insurance arm of The Long & Foster® Companies.

Bain previously worked as vice-president and general manager for Howard Hanna Insurance Services, Inc. in Pittsburgh, Pa. Under his leadership, his division grew dramatically and was recognized regionally and nationally with Agency of the Year awards by Harleysville Group and Travelers Insurance. Howard Hanna Insurance, a subsidiary of Hanna Holdings, Inc. was recently ranked number one nationally in insurance policy sales for 2009 by 2010 REAL Trends 500, an industry ranking service.

Prior to that he founded and led sales and marketing efforts for The McDonnell Bain Group, which was recognized as Maryland’s New Agency of the Year in 1999 by Erie Insurance Group. Bain also worked for AT&T Capital Corporation in Towson, MD for nine years in several leadership and senior leadership positions.

Bain and his wife and three children plan to relocate to Northern Virginia this summer. He is a graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics in 1989.
